Christmas Song Tag

I’m doing another book tag with the tag reference from, The Blind Scribe, who I’m going to thank a lot throughout the season for holiday posting plans. This tag is focused on Christmas songs.

“You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch”: Name a villainous character you couldn’t help but love. This one was from a recent read, the Dead City trilogy Marek he set the perfect note as smart and charming but at the same time you’re worried he’d snap your neck. It was great writing.

“All I Want for Christmas is You”: Which book do you most hope to see under your Christmas tree? Keeper of the Lost Cities 9, Infinity Courts 2, Small Spaces 4, oh we’re not talking about books I can magically get my hands on that come out in 2022. I don’t know at the moment but I’m sure I’ll find something to ask for for Christmas.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”: Name a character that overcomes major obstacles and learns to believe in themselves. Thisbe in the Unwanteds Quest, she has doubts about herself the whole Unwanteds Quest series but eventually comes through in the end and becomes secure in her powers and the person she needs to be.

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town”: a) Which character do you think would be on the top of the naughty list? b) Which character do you think would be at the top of the nice list?

A) I guess he’s not totally naughty but he’s definitely like a devious spirit on your shoulder. The Revenant from Vespertine I think would be happy to find himself on the top of this list. B) Liora from Luminous would probably find herself on the top of the nice list because of the way she helps and protects her family.

“Frosty the Snowman”: Which book just melts your heart.

Song for a Whale was just sweet and I loved the shifts in perspectives from the protagonist to the whale.

Feliz Navidad”: Choose a book that takes place in a country other than your own.

A Kind of Spark, it was one of my favorites. It talks about autism and witch trials and being different and is definitely a must read.

“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Which holiday themed book do you use to spread the Christmas joy?

I don’t really have any holiday themed books. Maybe I’ll find one this year.

“Sleigh Ride”: Which fictional character would you choose to spend the holidays with (doesn’t have to be a love interest!)

Since I read mostly YA books and middle grade I don’t really want to hang out with any of the protagonists. I’m too old, however I would love to have tea with Hesekiel and Erik from the Tea Dragon Series. One I’m sure the tea is AMAZING and I’d love to hear stories about all their adventures.

“Do You Hear What I Hear”: Which book do you think everyone should read?

The Infinity Courts was a can’t miss for everyone this year. The world building was great and some of the twists and turns were awesome.
